Today, 2nd Progress Report of 2023 Chengdu Worldcon is released. The report consists of four parts: Basic Introduction, Introduction of the Venue, Visa Guidebook, and Have Fun in Culture-rich Chengdu.

Basic Introduction outlines the main contents and highlights of 9 activities, including the opening ceremony, WSFS business meeting, Hugo Award ceremony, exhibition (fantable), programs, and the virtual Worldcon. The part of Introduction of the Venue introduces the specific location and layout of Chengdu Science (Science Fiction) Museum, the main venue of the convention, and recommends the transportation to the venue, hotels nearby, and delicacy around the venue. Have Fun in Culture-rich Chengdu recommends the Jinsha Site Museum, Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Qingcheng Mountain, Dujiangyan irrigation system, and other scenic spots in Chengdu for members to visit during breaks from the convention.

In addition, in order to help foreign sci-fi members to attend the convention in Chengdu, the progress report also elaborates the application procedure for obtaining a Chinese visa, along with contact information for some overseas Chinese visa centers/consular visa offices.

With the 2023 Chengdu Worldcon approaching, the organizing committee is cooperating with domestic and foreign science fiction institutions, enterprises, and sci-fi fans to make every effort to advance all the work of the event and meticulously prepare for a wonderful science fiction event. The report provides information on the main activities, hotels and food, transportation, and visa application. We hope it brings convenience to the members and fans who will attend the convention.
