发布时间:2023-03-01 09:16来源:科幻协会

Nominations for the 2023 Hugo Awards, the Lodestar Award for Best Young Adult Book, and the Astounding Award for Best New Writer are now open. Nominations can be submitted through our website at https://hugo.chengduworldcon.com/

Everyone with memberships to either Chicon 8 or the 2023 Chengdu Worldcon that was purchased before February 1, 2023 is eligible to nominate up to five items in each of the 17 Hugo and 2 other award categories. People who have purchased admissions, without WSFS rights, are not eligible to nominate in this vote.

The nomination page will ask the nominator to provide their email address and they will be sent an email with their verification code and membership number, which must both then be entered to log in for nomination. Anyone having issues logging in should email hugoteam@chengduworldcon.com for assistance.
Nominations for the awards will remain open until 11:59 pm Hawaiian time on April 30th, 2023.

The Hugo categories for fiction that have word count limitations are based on items published in English. As it is expected there will be a significant number of nominations for items written in Chinese, the Hugo administration team is ruling that for the purposes of categorization, a factor of 1.6 will be used when converting from English words to Chinese characters. As such the fiction category breakpoints will be:
1) Short Story: fewer than 7,500 English words or 12,000 Chinese characters.

2) Novelette: between 7,500/12,000 and 17,500 English words or 28,000 Chinese characters.

3) Novella: between 17,500/28,000 and 40,000 English words or 64,000 Chinese characters.

4) Novel: greater than 40,000 English words or 64,000 Chinese characters.
