The Hugo Awards is an annual literary award given at the World Science Fiction Convention by the World Science Fiction Society. It is named after Hugo Gernsback, the founder of the pioneering science fiction magazine Amazing Stories.

Since its establishment, the Hugo Awards are given out for the best science fiction or fantasy works and achievements of the previous year. All WSFS members can nominate and vote for the Hugo Awards.

From Dune, Neuromancer, and Harry Potter to The Three-Body Problem, in the name of fantasy, writers from different countries and cultures communicate through their minds and imagination. People are closely connected through these works, and the Hugo Award continues to steer the course of global science fiction literature.

As one of the world's most well-known and prestigious science fiction awards, being shortlisted for the Hugo Award can be regarded as the highest recognition by the global science fiction community.

According to the WSFS Constitution , the 2023 Hugo Awards Subcommittee has finalized the shortlist. The subcommittee would like to thank all the members who participated in the nomination, expressing appreciation for your attention, patience, and encouragement toward the Hugo Award. Furthermore, the subcommittee would like to extend their thanks and blessings to the nominees, appreciating their contributions to the global exchange of science fiction culture and wishing them good luck in the final ballot voting.
